Salt Dough Ornaments

Let’s make decorations to hang on our tree!

Click to download the 3 Easy Christmas crafts Salt dough recipe and prepare the mixture. Roll out the salt dough to about 1 cm thick. If making a hand print make a circle 3 cm wider than your child’s hand and press their hand in the middle. Or use cookie cutters to make shapes.

Place onto wax paper and use a straw to punch a hole near the edge of each ornament. Bake in a microwave on high for 2 minutes. Turn over and bake for 1 minute. If still soft, bake for 20 seconds at a time until dough becomes solid.

Put thread through the hole and make a loop and knot. Now go hang your ornaments on your tree!

Egg Carton Egg Ornaments

Jingle bells ….

Cut out 2 egg cup cartons and poke a hole in the top of each cup with a pen or pencil. Take out your paint, paint brushes, cotton buds, pipe cleaners and bells.

Paint the inside then outside of the egg cups and set aside to dry. While the cups are drying, choose a different colour paint for decorating. Dip a cotton bud into paint and make dots around each cup. Let dry.

Thread the pipe cleaner through the hole of the bell. Pull it to the middle and twist a few times to keep the bell from slipping. Thread the two ends of the pipe cleaner through the hole at the top of the egg cup.

Pull through so the bell hangs just above the edge of the cup. Twist a few times at the top to hold it secure. Finally, twist the ends of the pipe cleaner together to form a loop for a handle

Have fun singing jingle bells and hang on your tree!

Candy Cane Bell

What is red and white and rings? A candy cane bell!
